Botox & Neurotoxin Injections
Does Doucet Med Spa offer Dysport?
No. Doucet Med Spa currently only offers Botox as its neurotoxin injectable; Dysport, Jeuveau, and Daxxify are not offered.
What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are both brands of botulinum toxin (often called “neurotoxins”) that relax facial muscles to smooth wrinkles. Botox, made by Allergan, is the original neurotoxin on the market and has the longest track record of research and results. Dysport is a newer neurotoxin brand made by a different manufacturer.
Why doesn't Doucet Med Spa offer Dysport, Jeuveau, or Daxxify?
Doucet Med Spa previously offered other neurotoxin brands but discontinued them after patients reported the results didn’t last as long and led to more complaints compared with Botox. Based on that patient feedback, Botox was identified as the neurotoxin with the best, longest-lasting results, so it’s the only one currently offered.
What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?
Botox and fillers are both popular injectables, but they work differently. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause expression wrinkles, such as frown lines or crow’s feet. Fillers add volume, smooth fine lines and folds, enhance facial contours, lift and restructure the skin, improve facial symmetry, correct under-eye hollows, and hydrate the skin. Many patients use Botox and filler together for a more complete, natural-looking result
What brand of dermal fillers does Doucet Med Spa use?
Doucet Med Spa uses the Juvéderm line of fillers, which, like Botox, is made by Allergan.
EMFACE® (Non-Invasive Facial Toning)
What is EMFACE® and how does it work?
EMFACE® is a non-invasive treatment that lifts and tones the face using synchronized radiofrequency and HIFES (high-intensity facial stimulation) energy. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles and strengthens facial muscles without needles or downtime.
Where can I see EMFACE® before-and-after results?
Doucet Med Spa has a dedicated page on its website for EMFACE® with more in-depth information, education, and before-and-after transformation photos.
Emsculpt Neo (Body Contouring & Muscle Building)
What is Emsculpt Neo and how does it work?
Emsculpt Neo is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that combines two energies in one session: high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to build muscle, and radiofrequency energy to heat and target fat in the treatment area. The two work simultaneously to build muscle and reduce fat without surgery or a physical workout.
How would you describe Emsculpt Neo to someone who's never heard of it?
It’s comparable to doing about 2,000 crunches in 30 minutes if you’re treating your abdomen, or roughly 20,000 squats in 30 minutes if you’re treating your glutes or hamstrings, without you doing the physical workout yourself. The device drives your muscles through that level of contraction while radiofrequency energy helps melt fat in the same area.
What is the difference between Emsculpt Neo and CoolSculpting?
Emsculpt Neo uses heat-based technology (radiofrequency plus HIFEM) to build muscle while melting fat over a broad area of tissue. CoolSculpting uses freezing technology to target fat cells in a more localized area and does not build muscle. Because CoolSculpting treats a specific spot, some patients can develop “shelving,” a visible ridge where the treated area is frozen but the surrounding tissue isn’t.
Why does Doucet Med Spa offer Emsculpt Neo instead of CoolSculpting?
Emsculpt Neo produces better overall results in Dr. Doucet’s clinical experience: patients typically see about a 30% decrease in fat, compared with roughly 20–25% with CoolSculpting. Emsculpt Neo also builds muscle at the same time, which CoolSculpting does not do.
Is Emsculpt Neo safe?
Yes. Emsculpt Neo is the only FDA-approved treatment that combines radiofrequency and HIFEM technology for both muscle building and fat reduction in a single device. Most patients are candidates, though a consultation is required first to screen for contraindications.
Who should not get Emsculpt Neo?
Patients with certain metal implants, such as a cardiac defibrillator, a spinal TENS unit, or certain sleep apnea devices with electrical components, are not candidates, since the treatment’s energy can interfere with implanted electrical devices. Pregnant patients and patients undergoing cancer treatment are also not candidates. Every patient completes a consultation to screen for these and other contraindications before treatment.
What are the side effects of Emsculpt Neo?
The intended effects are muscle building and fat reduction. Some patients notice temporary warmth or pinkness in the treated area that resolves quickly. Bruising is rare and usually related to applicator placement. Muscle fatigue can occur if a patient’s settings are turned up high, similar to how muscles feel after an intense workout.
Is there downtime after Emsculpt Neo?
No. There is no downtime with Emsculpt Neo. Sessions take about 30 minutes, so many patients treat it like a lunch-break appointment and return to normal activity immediately afterward.
Who is the ideal candidate for Emsculpt Neo?
Emsculpt Neo is best suited to patients with a BMI under 35 who are already relatively fit or active and want to refine specific areas, like love handles or the glutes, rather than lose significant body fat. It’s a body contouring and refinement treatment, not a weight-loss treatment.
What results can I expect from Emsculpt Neo, and how soon?
The initial treatment is a series of four sessions spaced about a week apart. Most patients start noticing results within four weeks of finishing the series, with maximum results appearing by about two months.
Is maintenance required after Emsculpt Neo?
Yes. Doucet Med Spa recommends a maintenance session every three to four months after your initial series of four to maintain results. Maintenance sessions are priced more affordably than the initial series, and membership options are available.
What should I do to prepare for an Emsculpt Neo session?
Come in already doing some form of regular exercise, and stay well hydrated. Hydration is especially important since the treatment fatigues the muscles being worked. No other special preparation is required.
What should I avoid before or after Emsculpt Neo treatment?
Avoid extra strength training on the specific area you’re treating during your session series. For example, don’t add extra ab workouts on top of an Emsculpt Neo abdominal series. Beyond that, maintain a healthy diet and good hydration.
What lifestyle habits help maintain Emsculpt Neo results?
Daily exercise, a healthy low-fat diet, adequate sleep, and strong hydration all support and extend Emsculpt Neo results. Patients who are calorie-restricting are also encouraged to add protein and vitamin supplementation.
How long does an Emsculpt Neo session take?
Each session takes about 30 minutes.
What does an Emsculpt Neo session feel like?
It depends on the area being treated. On the abdomen, most patients feel a tightening-and-release sensation as the muscle cycles through a series of contractions. On the arms, some patients notice hand twitching during treatment. Neither is described as painful.
What happens during an Emsculpt Neo consultation?
Your consultation includes a detailed medical history, a discussion of your goals and appropriate expectations for your body type, and baseline measurements, including body composition, so your results can be tracked over time.
Hormone Replacement Therapy (BioTE Pellets)
Does Doucet Med Spa offer hormone pellets?
Yes. Doucet Med Spa offers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy pellets by BioTE. The process starts with a consultation with the doctor to confirm you’re a good candidate, review your medical history and symptoms, order labs, and walk through what to expect during and after your pellet insertion.
What is hormone replacement therapy and who should consider it?
Hormone replacement therapy tests your current hormone levels and optimizes them to relieve symptoms of imbalance. In women, the most commonly tested and treated hormones are testosterone, estradiol, and thyroid; in men, it’s typically testosterone and thyroid.
What are the benefits of hormone replacement therapy?
For women, especially postmenopausal women, optimizing estradiol and testosterone can relieve symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, low libido, low energy, crying spells, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. Premenopausal women are more commonly treated with testosterone alone. For men, testosterone therapy commonly addresses fatigue, poor workout recovery, sleep problems, and erectile dysfunction.
What are the signs I might need hormone therapy?
In women, common signs include hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, irritability, crying spells, low libido, low energy, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. In men, common signs include low energy, insomnia, and erectile dysfunction.
At what age do hormone imbalance symptoms typically start?
It varies by patient. In women, symptoms can begin before menopause but generally become more pronounced during and after the menopause transition. In men, symptoms can start as early as their 30s or 40s.
How is a hormone imbalance diagnosed?
Doucet Med Spa combines a detailed symptom history with bloodwork to measure your actual hormone levels, then uses both to determine the appropriate dose for your treatment plan.
How quickly will I feel a difference from hormone pellet therapy?
Most patients notice some relief within two to three weeks of pellet insertion, with gradual improvement continuing over the following months.
How long do hormone pellets last?
Pellets typically last three to four months in women and up to six months in men. Symptoms may start to return near the end of that window, which signals it’s time for your next session.
Can hormone therapy be combined with Emsculpt Neo or other body contouring?
Yes, the two can be combined, and patients supplementing with testosterone therapy may see even better body composition and muscle-building results from Emsculpt Neo.
How does hormone balance affect fat loss and muscle gain?
Research shows postmenopausal women on estradiol and testosterone therapy tend to lose weight over time, which can help offset the truncal weight gain and abdominal girth many women experience after menopause. Testosterone therapy also helps reduce muscle wasting (sarcopenia) in women and improves exercise and muscle-building results in men.
What kind of feedback do patients give after starting hormone therapy?
Many postmenopausal women report the pellets have changed their day-to-day life, typically noticing more energy and stamina within three to four months. Men commonly report more energy, more stamina, and more effective workouts.
Medical Weight Loss
Does Doucet Med Spa have a weight loss program?
Yes. Doucet Med Spa offers semaglutide and tirzepatide weight loss injections under the supervision of a medical doctor. The process begins with a consultation where the doctor reviews your medical history, health history, and lab work to confirm the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. If you’re a candidate, you’ll receive a personalized plan with ongoing medical oversight.
